It's Never Too Late for Your Own Happy Childhood!

No matter what kind of childhood you really had, it's never too late to enjoy a happy childhood in your life. Time does indeed heal all wounds, and once you are able to allow yourself to heal from issues you once had, you'll allow yourself to move on with your life, have a bit of fun, and maybe even build a great relationship with your Mom!

True, nothing will change the past, but your future is completely within your own hands. This becomes even easier when you allow yourself to become aware of your past, accept what has happened, and understand that you can move on. The worst thing that you can do for yourself is to bottle up or deny what you've been through in your childhood. In fact, by doing that, it means that you've never actually let go of your unhappy childhood, and you're continuing to live it. Instead, work on accepting yourself and building a positive attitude for your life today. Dedicate yourself to having a happy childhood today, no matter what your age.

The trick here is simply to enjoy yourself as you would have if you were a child. If you have kids, spend some time playing and bonding with them on their level. Go on a trip to the zoo, and let your children choose where to go. Look at the world through their eyes. Even playing in the yard and just letting go can make all the difference.

If you don't have kids, you can still have fun. Go for a bike ride, alone or with a friend or partner. Blow bubbles in the yard. Make a snowman. There is something entirely healthy and invigorating about simply enjoying life at its most simple level.

Finally, in honor of this month's Mother's Day, give your Mom a call. Ask how she's doing, and care about the answer. Share some things in your life. If possible, have lunch or dinner together, and buy her some flowers - her favorites if you know what they are or pink roses if you don't. Make a concerted effort to rebuild a new relationship with your mom that you can both value and enjoy.

After all, you have only one mom, but you can have lots of childhoods!
